SIDEWALK WORK LIST
Prescott Street (Summer Avenue to Lincoln Street)
Please be advised that, within the next few weeks, the Town of Reading, Department of Public Works and its contractor, P.J. Albert, Inc., will begin construction on your road or a portion of the road near your home. The list of roads and the type of work are on the opposite side of this notice. It is our goal to have the work completed within four to eight weeks of the start date (weather dependent). To complete this endeavor, we are asking you for your assistance.
- Please do not park on the travel way or on the sides of the roads during construction hours (typical schedule of Monday-Friday from 7:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M.). Cars parked on the travel way during construction will slow down the work and may force us to tow the vehicles out of the way.
- During paving operations, the road may be impassable at times. Allowing extra time for appointments is recommended. If you need to travel during the paving day, we ask that you move your car to a side street outside of the construction area so that you will not be blocked in. It is expected that, for each street, the completion of the paving operation will take less than one day.
- Please have your trash placed out at the curb, on your day of trash collection, by 6:30 A.M. During days that the road is closed and it is your trash collection day, the Town may have to pick up your trash earlier than you may be used too.
- Please obey the directives of the police details, workers and warning signs during all construction operations.
- Any items or installations within the Town Right-of-Way (including lawn irrigation and sprinklers, fencing, electric dog fencing, walls, plants and planters, mailboxes, posts, paver/brick driveway aprons and walkways, railings, stones, cobbles, gravel, asphalt, concrete, timbers, drains and drain pipes, signage, basketball hoops, etc.) are placed there at the Owner’s risk. Please clearly mark lawn irrigation and sprinklers, and electric dog fencing locations within the Town Right-of-Way.
- Most importantly, we ask you for your continued support and patience during this project.
