  1. Genealogy One-on-One: Private Research Appointment

    Just starting your research into your family history and need some help? Looking to learn more about your house or starting the process of applying for a historic house marker? Book an appointment with our Local History and Genealogy Reference Librarian today! Together, we will sort through your research and make a plan for next steps and how the local history room can help. These meetings will be held in the Local History Room on the 2nd floor of the library. Jocelyn Gould recently joined the RPL staff after spending the last 16 years as an Interpretive Ranger at the National Parks of Boston where she gave tours of the Freedom Trail and Black Heritage Trail and presented talks at various historic sites throughout the city. Her genealogy areas of research include: Acadians in Nova Scotia and New England, North End Italians, veterans of the American Revolution, and the Black community of 19th century Massachusetts.

    Krissy McKeeman is back! And this time She's bringing some friends. During each session in this three part series, an expert from Mystic Valley Elder Services will come with Krissy to teach about a different topic each week, and the resources that MVES provides to support older adults and caretakers in these areas. This week: Home Care (helping older adults to live independently in their own homes)! The session dates for this series are: 1/9/2023, 1/23/2023 & 1/30/2023 You will automatically be registered for all of the sessions. You do not need to attend all of the session! Email Melissa at mseldon@noblenet.org if you need to make any cancellations. Assistive listening systems will be available in this library program. Receivers are available with headphones or induction loops for use with telecoil-enabled hearing aids. Please ask library staff members for more information.
